This season saw the first time that @prada’s staple black nylon was shown in abundance on the runway, ‘Prada Invites’ enlisted four industrial designers to use the iconic material to design an item each. Archive prints were re-imagined and re-used, what looked like chalk markings remained along the seams of jackets, I.D tags were attached at the collar and ties were just slightly askew. Intricate, intuitive and inventive, read all about it and see BTS photos by @actuallynicholas on thelovemagazine.co.uk 🖤
🤠 Backstage with @bellahadid at the @dsquared2 AW18 men’s and women’s show. “If you put Johnny Cash, K.D Lang and Stevie Nicks in a blender, that’s who would be wearing this collection.” Agreed Dean and Dan Caten simultaneously on their super glamorous, wild western themed show. "We were appropriating menswear fabrics, the classic pinstripes, very tweedy wools and just menswear staples. We then sliced them and diced them into new configurations for womenswear, mixing it together to create something sexy and conservative". Says @itsjeremyscott on his AW18 @moschino men’s and Pre Fall women’s show, which also included prints of the late Italian architect and designer, Carlo Morino’s caricature model Polaroids. We caught up with a @asliceofbambi ahead of the @marni AW18 men’s show earlier today. “The world is becoming so small, we are all so much closer to each other and to me that was the challenge of this collection, to create connection.” Says Francesco on his intuitively nomadic collection. We went backstage at the @undercover_lab and @takahiromiyashitathesoloist AW18 show, as they were showcased as Pitti Uomo’s guest designers. “What he is showing always represents what he is feeling. The present. He is trying to do something special. Everybody is thinking in the same way,” relays Chieri Hazu, Jun Takahashi’s translator. After nearly 9 years, the Japanese designer returned to Pitti Uomo for his second ever menswear show. In this extraordinary spectacle, the designer joined forces with long-term friend, @tkhrthesoloistmyst, for their joint AW18 show. Undercover’s half was titled “order-disorder” and “disorder-order” was the name of TAKAHIROMIYASHITATheSoloist’s. Photography by @simonelezzi 📷. Read the full article on thelovemagazine.co.uk 🚀
BTS at @craig__green’s AW18 show by @asiawerbel. “We were trying to make kites, then we tried to make a rubber kite. It was that idea of seeing something from a photo, from another culture and never knowing what it was made of or how it moved." Says Craig on this seasons sculptural forms. His hopes for 2018, “to stay working with friends and family.” Read the full article on thelovemagazine.co.uk. 🎏
