Greyhounds have the most incredible smile! This lovely image was captured at the end of Rikki and Galileo's session in the Canberra outback! How lovely is this little family!
So many dog breeds find themselves misunderstood. An amazing friend of mine works for the RSPCA in London and is constantly telling me how breeds like Pitbulls and Alsations are likened to being evil by the people who drop them off. I hand on heart believe that dogs are one of the best nature souls out there, and it isn't the dog's inherent disposition which can make them problematic. I'm saying this because I absolutely LOVE dogs, and I especially love capturing gorgeous Greyhounds, like Reggie here, with Verity! These two are like two peas in a pod!
These two amazing people celebrated 13 YEARS of marriage a few days ago! How incredible is that? Photography is much more about simple capturing images; it's about capturing memories and making them. Being able to connect with you and create an awesome relationship is the flowerbed that my process grows on. It's why I love to invite everyone I work with into my studio for a chat and as a way to understand you and your family and life a whole lot better! Give it up for Stephen and Lilah, they are the best!
First rule in my big book of 'how to make awesome portraits of you and your family', is NO POSING. In capital letters. Bolded. Written with gold pen. That means I'm not going to make you and your family awkwardly smile at me so it looks like you've all just be on vacation to the dentist. Scenes like this naturally unfurl when getting to the heart of what a family is all about; Johnny running ahead of the pack in the sunset light. I love how this image expresses youth, and that sense of exploration!
Wooden stairs, rustic barns, and gorgeous newlyweds; what more could I ask for? This little excursion away from the main day was so much fun with Veronica and Peter. If you haven't been there already you really should check out the incredible @tuggeranonghomestead. The work they put in to make this whole place look perfect for your wedding day is second to none!
These are the kinds of images that will be looked back on in twenty years; Matthew looking across the yet to be built family home, covered in dust from playing with the family, and exploring. So much fascination in this little stance.
That moment where the whole world shrinks and it's just you staring at him, and him staring at you. Thinking about how far you've come and what magic lies ahead of you both. Stepping up to say some of the most important and meaningful words in your lives. This moment when Von was walking down the aisle to Peter was heartstopping. It was incredible seeing these two gorgeous people wed, and I can't get over how beautiful Von looks here!
It's incredible how quickly we grow up. I love taking the time every so often to crack open the vault I have in my garage which is filled to the brim with old photos of myself and my family when we were younger. It was my father and mother who used to capture us on old 35mm film, and each and every one of these moments holds something dear to me. Those times we were out at the beach. The memories of being at home on a lazy Sunday and dad capturing me and my sister goofing around. These are the moments which I love to reflect on, and each of these images brings me back to that time. This is the power of amazing and authentic photography. No poses, no fake smiles, just what happened at that point in time. Which leads me to this gorgeous image of little Eloise which I captured on my little adventure with Ben and Lissy's amazing family! How adorable is that pink bow?! Loved taking the time to explore the farm with these little tribe!
I'm all about that rustic life, and capturing Peter and Veronica's Wedding at @tuggeranonghomestead was a complete blast! I love this quiet image of Veronica exploring one of the old rustic barns at this gorgeous location. Bring on those rustic wooden stairs, painted walls, and creeky floorboards!
I absolutely adore family portrait sessions! Ben, Lissy, Matthew, Eloise and Johnny were a complete joy to hang around, roaming around their beautiful land and home-to-be! This beautiful little tribe has so much happiness around it, as I'm sure you can tell from this scene! It is always amazing how much energy children have and how much they love to explore! This session was filled with wombat holes, sunset walks, and lots of laughter!

Black and white images can create the most incredible sense of atmosphere. I find that the more romantic and personal images suit black and white, and I always love to have a great mix of bright colours and those slightly 'moody' black and whites! This image of Peter and Veronica taking a moment together at one of the gorgeous barns at @tuggeranonghomestead is just so fantastic! How stunning does Veronica look?! Comment below and let me know if you prefer colour or black and white images!
Family means everything, and when you have such a wonderful and amazing tribe like Ben and Lissy, capturing sessions like this is such an awesome experience! Exploring their stunning property near Lake George in Canberra was incredible; I'm always amazed by how much energy children have, and Johnny, Matthew and Eloise were brimming with exploration, wonder, and amazement at everything on the farm! Wombat holes, the huge piles of dirt, everything!
If you've been a long-term follower of me you'll know how much I absolutely adore animals, including dogs, and especially Greyhounds! Having adopted two ex-racing Greyhounds myself, I have such a soft spot for these misunderstood gentle giants, and taking Verity and her adorable fawn coloured male Greyhound, Reggie, out was such a treat! Exploring Mount Majura in Canberra with these two for a sunset stroll was incredible, and seeing the connection that Verity and Reggie have together was amazing!
Capturing memories and moments is what photography is all about to me. It's about immortalising the story of you and your family and sealing that brief moment into something you can cherish for the rest of your life. I love grabbing my monster box of old family photos out and pouring through them. The moments of me as a child, my father diligently capturing these adventures whilst I had no memory of these special times. This is the power of photography; bringing us back to those moments and letting us relive those times through stunning artwork. I can't wait to show you more from this absolutely magical family session with Ben, Lissy, Eloise, Matthew and Johnny. This was something special, and this moment at the end of the day between Eloise and Ben shows just how incredible their little tribe is.
Let's get our hands dirty. Let's climb rocks. Let's explore. Let's chase the sunset. Let's indulge in one another and show the world who we really are. This is what each and every session I create is all about. No false smiles lined up waiting for everything to be over. This isn't traditional portrait photography as you know it. This is an adventure, and I believe that adventures bring out the best in all of us. Sunset with Stephen and Lilah on our own little adventure was something stunning and unforgettable. These two have this incredible energy between them which I know you'll agree, radiates through every single image of this gorgeous session.
Waiting to see your images from your Wedding Day is a nerve-wracking thing for some people. You're wondering if the photographer caught the right angle, if the images came out perfectly, how you looked, and if there were any images of that special moment you had in your head. Well what if I told you that I could magically show you what your images would look like on the same day as your Wedding? I can. My Same Day Slideshow is an incredible show for the bride and groom, guests, and everyone alike. This is one of my most popular features of the Wedding Day Packages I create, and it blows people away every single time. What's more, because my style is natural, candid and authentic, it means that you'll be able to see a fantastic selection of images more or less exactly as they will appear when you get them back within six weeks. You can sit back with your soul mate, enjoy the champagne, and feel reassured that you do indeed look amazing on one of the biggest days of your life. If you'd love to have this as part of your Wedding drop a comment below! I'd love to show you in person what I can do for you!
