ARE YOU TEAM JUICES OR SMOOTHIES... OR BOTH?🤔 . . I've seen so many different posts, arguments, articles why blending is better. I'll share why I feel JUICING is superior, though YES I do BOTH. Now if you can eat all the colors as the whole food, thats excellent, but both of these are great tools to help those transition and cheat the eating process when our palate isn’t quite there yet. Obviously I came from being a food addict, NEVER ate vegetables, LIFELONG ailments including chronic migraines, IBS & no energy due to poor diet, lifestyle & meds. Smoothies was something I've incorporated since being a freshman in highschool. You know, MAYBE some greens, cows milk🤮,banana, some other frozen fruit & probably a few powders including whey protein. So OBVIOUSLY smoothies wasn't what made my big breakthrough. Smoothies sure include fiber. But they need a liquid which dillutes it(most of the time we're using something processed like cow milk) while focusing too much on all the powders. And how many greens or veggies are you REALLY putting in there? I tried for a while before biting the bullet & buying a juicer & FINALLY had my breakthrough. Now let me rave about juicing. It strips the fiber yes, but it also concentrates the micronutrients & structured water from the plants, to help flood your body with them without having to digest. Why’s this important? The digestive system is the most overworked system in the human body. It gives it a break as well as helps people who are ill or terminally ill (google Gerson)cheat getting all those nutrients without beating up or using energy to digest while also getting MUCH higher varieties & quantities. When I started juicing 32 ounces DAILY(roughly 12-15 serv of veg, can blending do that? )which that quantity would probably fill up 3 blenders, it started to bring hydration, minerals and that electrical life flow back into the body. Back to smoothies, the one shown is a coconut water, banana, cacao, almond butter and date which taste AMAZING! Also if you aren’t ready to buy a juicer & you blend & strain great! Ultimately juicing is next level for healing & getting a POWERFUL punch of rapidly absorbed nutrients. Who co-signs?🤔
PERSIMMON NICE CREAM, WHO WANTS SOME?😛 . . Noah and I were just chilling catching some rays on this beautiful 80 degree day when an Ice Cream truck(a little bootleg looking🤷🏽♂️) drove by. @noah_the_vegan looked at me and I immediately knew what he was thinking. It’s @yonanas time! This #nicecream is literally 2 ingredients. Frozen bananas and frozen persimmons. That’s it! The sauce I poured on was simply dates and water blended to give it a little caramel topping. Blending frozen fruit to make nice cream is good, but Yonanas is next level! Shout out to my sweet friend @thesweetestvegan_lori for this!❤️🙏🏽
WHERE MY PERSIMMON FANS AT?!✋🏽 . . It’s one of my favorite times of the year! It’s about to be Scorpio season(where my Scorpios at🦂? )and as much as I love my summer fruits, I love just as much the fall fruits! Especially persimmons. I’m sure if you haven’t tried them, you’ve definitely walked by them in the store or farmers market and wondered, what is that? There’s two types that are commonly easy to get your hands on which are fuyu, shown above, or hachiya. You really can’t go wrong with either one. They’re both super flavorful and tasty and like all fruits, have a number of benefits. Persimmons are good for helping fight all chronic disease such as cancer, hypertension and diabetes, they aid in digestion, they improve production of red blood cells, good for reducing high blood pressure, weight loss and overall good at helping strengthen immunity. @noah_the_vegan and I are big fans and I’m sure you’ll be too. Widen out that fruit variety. Big shout out to my people over at @miamifruit for this perfect batch freshly grown by them! ADOPT DON’T BUY! WHO AGREES? . . FACT: After watching the documentary Earthlings I went vegan overnight. Besides exposing all of the eye opening reckless and inhumane ways animals are treated for us just so we can eat and wear them, there was a part of that documentary that stuck with me and forever will. It was the part about pets, in particular dogs. Approximately 1.5 million sheltered animals are euthanized every year. Establishments like puppy mills that basically mass breed puppies for sale(at pet stores for anywhere starting at 1K), care about profit over priority of the pup are mostly responsible. These puppy mills not only contribute to pet overpopulation but are usually in overcrowded, unsanitary conditions, caged without much care, food, water or socialization. After watching and learning about all this and being a dog lover all my life, it was time to step up and adopt/rescue a little guy. That little guy would be @noah_the_vegan from the @aliverescue in Chicago. Since then clearly this little guy has been a blessing. I’ve grown up with dogs all my life, but there’s a special connection and bond you have when it comes to adopting. I didn’t look at him as a dog, but a son and an investment. I wanted to give him the best life, feed him the best food(vegan) and give him the most freedom(clearly from the InstaStories running free at the park daily and allowing him to be ALPHA of the house). Well it’s been roughly four years and I can say Noah is out here living his best life! Moral of the story here is, Adopt, don’t buy! Learn and educate yourself about all of these reckless underground facilities and choose to adopt before you think about getting a pup. WHO AGREES THAT GOING TO RETREATS CAN BE LIFE CHANGING? . . This March will be absolutely NO exception! @noah_the_vegan and I will be joining @karyncalabrese and Viktoras Kulvinskas for our FIRST EVER ‘Rejuvenate Your Spirit Retreat’ March 20-25 2019 in the beautiful Montezuma, Costa Rica! It is an absolute HONOR to be co-hosting this, what will be LIFE CHANGING retreat with a couple of pioneers and mentors of mine since being introduced to raw living foods. 5 nights in the tropical Costa Rica in the waterfall paradise of Montezuma where you’ll learn all about detoxing and rebuilding the body, juicing, raw living foods, enzymology, fasting and more. There’ll also be yoga, meditation, fire dancers, music, beach activities and so much more. WHO LOVES SMOOTHIE BOWLS?🤔 . . October smoothie bowls for the win🍂🍏🍌🎃🥥! I’m not going to lie, my original plan was nice cream, but it quickly turned to a smoothie bowl with the texture turning a bit too smoothie like🤷🏽♂️. However, with persimmons in season, I decided to put together the next best thing, this bomb tasting bowl consisting of fuyu persimmons, bananas, dates, a dash of some coconut water and of course why not, the pumpkin spice seasoning. I topped the bowls with diced up honeycrisp apples, more persimmons and banana. If you don’t have the pumpkin spice, cinnamon works just fine. @noah_the_vegan as always was a fan!
I INVITE YOU OVER AND YOU CAN GRAB ONE THING HERE, WHAT WOULD IT BE? (again, Noah’s off limits✋🏽) . . Me? It would be what’s in my hand. A 32 ounce green juice. Actually, maybe it would be a toss up between persimmons since they’re back in season or yellow dragon fruit. Actually those mangoes are looking pretty meaty🤤. Maybe an apple? Honeycrisp is by far my favorite, the Granny Smith I normally juice. Hmmmm...🤔Yeah, if I’m picking one thing, most definitely the green juice🤷🏽♂️. You?
WHO WOULD EAT THIS RAW VEGAN CEREAL??? . . Well, besides @noah_the_vegan who would🤷🏽♂️. I made some quick and easy coconut milk by blending 2 coconuts, water and meat, and pouring it on top of diced honeycrisp apples, bananas, raspberries, dehydrated coconut shreds, hemp seeds, pecans and pumpkin pie spice since we’re entering pumpkin season. This cereal if I had the chance to eat, is as fresh and delicious as it gets. Just ask Noah.😒
WHO’S PRO CBD?✋🏽 . . Why? CBD is used for a number of medicinal purposes. Just to name a few, CBD has been used to treat and relieve pain, migraines, motion sickness, MS, sleep disorders, diabetes, fibromyalgia, glaucoma, heart disease, inflammation, acne, ADD/ADHD, Alzheimer’s, anxiety, arthritis, depression, Parkinson’s(which I’ve seen first hand relieve shakiness of hands), nausea, stress, cancer(even in dogs) and so much more. For me personally? I’ve felt almost IMMEDIATE calming/relaxing when taking it. You can just pop drops in your mouth, add to a juice or even smoothie. CBD does NOT get you high like THC does, although it does produce significant changes having medicinal benefits. Since hearing stories and seeing first hand how it’s helped others, I’ve recently decided to incorporate every now and then although I don’t suffer from anything other than your daily normal stress, or inflammation after hard workouts, both in which I feel immediate relief. What brand do I personally use? I’m loving the @nowalchemy nano enhanced CBD brand. I’m the type who does NOT just get any brand, I want the best, I want to know the owner, product itself, what goes in it and theres integrity. If you’ve been on the fence about CBD, or suffer from any the above and want to try something before going the conventional pharmaceutical route everyone else does, try incorporating some real concentrated plant medicine into your daily regimen.🙌🏽🌱
TAG YOUR RAW VEGAN INSPIRATION👇🏾 . . Here’s a random fact about me that I’ve shared on more than one occasions. After juicing and becoming vegan, I got introduced to raw foods on youtube. This powerful woman was one of the very first channels I came across. I think anyone who has tapped into or searched raw veganism can say the same. You can’t say raw vegan without having @fullyrawkristina come to mind. There are so many people whom have paved the way in the raw world for many years, but Kristina is one of the VERY FIRST to do it on a social media platform. When I first started watching her videos, there was NOBODY on youtube doing what she was. She’s a pioneer in that respect and has paved the way for all of us. I know I’m not the only one she’s inspired to not only make a change, but to also create a platform to start posting and sharing my own personal journey and experiences on it. I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to connect and be at her co-op a few years back and to be able to call her a good friend. She’s a bright light to the world not just for vegan and raw veganism but also for spreading love and an overall positive, conscious message.
