Our avocados are hardcore! 🥑 Cinco de Mayo is this Sunday, and Keany has you prepared. 💃🏻 Our warehouse has 3 ripening rooms to get the perfect quality avocados—green or conditioned. There are 4 sizes available to order— 84 ct, 70 ct, 60 ct, and 48 ct. There are also two types available— Number 1 and Number 2. No. 1 has a scar-free exterior and holds its shape when cut. They’re perfect for salads and decorative uses. No. 2 has some exterior scaring and has a creamy texture. They’re perfect for guacamole, dips, and toast. •• Guac to your sales rep about how to take advantage of our one-of-a-kind avo program.
#earthweek post: In 2015, Keany started to market cosmetically imperfect produce, or fruits and vegetables that don’t meet physical standards in the food industry, usually in regards with size, shape, diameter, consistency, and color. It is estimated that for every pound of product that does not meet these standards, and therefore not purchased, 25 gallons of water is wasted. Between January and August of 2018, we sold over 360,000 pounds of imperfect produce, preventing the unnecessary estimated expenditure of 9 million gallons of water. 💦 Some items included in our program, includes: peppers🌶, tomatoes🍅, potatoes🥔, and peas💚
Today’s #EarthWeek post is about our #local program! We partner with over 40 local farm partners within a 250-mile radius of our two facilities. Supporting local programs like ours, not only supports the local economy, but reduces food miles (distance food traveled from farm to fork). One of our biggest supporters of our local program is the @clydes_restaurant group. Within the last month, the Clyde’s Group has featured @fireflycheese goat cheese, @mountainvfarm Gouda, @parkerfarms field-packed asparagus, @lewisnurseryandfarms strawberries, Bubba’s Sweet Nectar Honey, @lovesweetpotatoes sweet potatoes, and mushrooms from Kennett Square. • Our Local season is really starting to pick up! Contact your account executive to learn more about our #sustainable local program!
Happy Earth Day! 🌎 “At Keany, green is not only on our trucks, it’s our way of doing business” 🚛 We will be highlighting our sustainability initiatives all week long. Have questions about any of our programs? Message us or ask your account executive. 🌱

We started as a one man, one truck operation and have grown exponentially to include many other family members, over 500 team members, 2 locations, and sustain the same mission- to provide the freshest, highest quality produce to the mid-Atlantic.
