It was so fun to see this beautiful astrological ceiling at @albertinebooks . ✨ Tucked inside the historic 5th Ave Payne Whitney mansion, The Albertine is the only bookshop in New York devoted solely to books in French & English . 📚 We went to see the books, but scroll to check out the gorgeous entry hall and jewel box of the mirrored Venetian room. #NYCstopover2019
The first of my many NYC museum dreams came true today with a visit to the incredible @frickcollection . Known for its distinguished Old Master paintings and outstanding examples of European sculpture and decorative arts, the collection was assembled by the Pittsburgh industrialist Henry Clay Frick (1849–1919) and is housed in his former residence on Fifth Avenue. One of New York City’s few remaining Gilded Age mansions, it provides a tranquil environment for visitors to experience masterpieces by artists such as Bellini, Rembrandt, Vermeer, Gainsborough, Goya, and Whistler. The museum opened in 1935 and has continued to acquire works of art since Mr. Frick’s death. . You can only take photos in the lovely central atrium, so I took a lot ☺️ #NYCstopover2019
Flack Fondue Fest for Valentines Day. ❤️ Cheese 🧀 course followed by chocolate 🍫. Couldn’t keep them off the dessert long enough to take the photo 😜 . UPDATE - I forgot to include the most important detail of all! This fondue pot is one of a set that my parents got as a wedding gift almost 45 years ago!! And they still work puuuuuurfectly!! . #Lifeinthe🍊V
Happiest girl in the world, right here 🙋🏻♀️ 🥟 Thanks to @yelp (and my tendency to overlook ignorant reviews) I was delighted to discover a Shanghainese restaurant walking distance from my Sacramento spiritual home - the @crockerart museum. . 🥟 While not the best I’ve ever had, their soup dumplings are good and their pan fried juicy pork buns are GREAT. I am also a sucker for smashed cucumber in garlic sauce - a great palate cleanser. What I was not so stoked about where the fried shrimp balls. They were a bit... much. #SacramentoAdventures
Quick little field trip to the local fish hatchery with the whole crew before work this am. Pretty damn cool.
Taking a little break from the birthday and wedding dress festivities to stroll through the beautiful and historic Santa Clara Mission Cemetery ⛪️
My amazing brother in law has been using his funemployment period to become a domestic goddess. With the culinary bible of Best Recipes to guide him, he has made his first loaf of bread. From scratch. Please meet the first Flack baby - a rustic Italian loaf 🍞 We couldn’t be more thrilled ☺️ #Lifeinthe🍊V
