Happiness is a practice of doing more of what you love, having clear boundaries, spending time with people who enrich your life (rather than drain your well), and finding solace, comfort, and peace in the quiet moments. Ultimately, it’s a practice that you choose.
“I am dancing on the edge of the world“ . . . Gratitude for this land of the Ohlone people, gratitude for this view, gratitude for the moments I choose to take for myself.
Breathe deeply. Until sweet air extinguishes the burn of fear in your lungs and every breath is a beautiful refusal to become anything less than infinite. [d. Antoinette Foy]
I used to be scared of that saying- “this shall be as if it never was”, “the only thing permanent is impermanence”. But now I see that this is actually hope. Because permanence means not growing. It means stagnation. If we believe things are permanent we will be stuck in our hurt, our shame, our pain for our whole lives. If we believe things are permanent, we are disallowing ourselves to evolve. But if we embrace these two sayings, we can embrace flow and non-attachment. Does that mean we don’t care or love passionately? Absolutely not. I think it actually frees us to love more.
After an 11 hour work day, it’s a nice reminder to take off my shoes, and remember to give myself love. . . So this is my Monday reminder to you: that something as simple as saying “I love you. You are worthy.” To yourself, is immensely powerful.
#tbt to one of my favorite yoga pics. Reminding myself to smile on this rainy day- because after this was taken, I laughed so hard I almost peed my pants and looking at this picture still reminds me of the joy that moment brought . . . #yogaposeoftheday #crowpose #yogajourney #favoritememories #joy #smilemore #moveyourbody #physicalwellbeing #laughtertherapy #rainydaycure #healthylifestyle #playmore #healthylifestyles #selfcarethreads #yogateacher #wellnesscoach #wellnessthatworks #emotionalwellbeing #balance #corestrength #grateful #strengthisbeauty #wannabeontop #yogapic #selfcompassion
New Day. New Shape. New things to be grateful for. New things to take my breath away. .... We can get stuck in the mundane. We can take the same route everyday, eat the same thing, talk to the same people and think “same old same old, nothing new” ... But everyday we’re given a choice to look at something with a fresh perspective. Just remember: the choice is yours.
Devotion to yourself is not selfish. In fact, it may just be the one of the most beautiful ways of giving love.
You are a season of BEcoming ✨ Loving this quote today and grateful for the people and the nature that holds space for me to become. ✨ What will you BE this year? ✨ (swipe to see what MAGIC I was staring at all around the hot spring 😍)
Looking to 2019 with gratitude for all of what has transpired over this past year. Looking to 2019, calling in simplicity. Setting the intention to be kind with words, to let actions be inspired from a heart-centered place, to have even more grace and compassion for the challenges to come, to learning how to let go, loving more, and saying Yes to things that fill my heart up with joy. Looking to 2019 feeling alive.
What do you do when your dream comes true? First, you take a moment to give gratitude- for the magnificence of that moment, that feeling, that experience, that memory. Then? You dream bigger✨ . . . What are you dreaming up for this new year? What are you calling in and setting as your intention? ✨
I have felt more fully, broken more violently, loved more deeply, and healed more completely this year than I ever have in my life. I’m not sure I can describe the joy I’ve felt from the inside out and what it feels like to have people say “you look so happy and radiant” nor do I have adequate words for the pain and rage I have felt when I have been betrayed. What I can say, is that feeling these emotions completely has given me a deeper understanding of the capacity of my heart and a greater appreciation for the art and challenge of being human. I’ll leave you with a simple message and mantra for today that’s been given to me several times over the past few months. Tuck it into your heart because: You’ve got this.
Remember, you are an evolution, my dear. Ever growing. Ever changing. Ever realizing your potential is beyond your wildest dreams. . . . Sweetly say these things to yourself, as a daily reminder that this process is a beautiful one (even if it’s messy, even if it’s painful)- all of it is beautiful.
Trusting the process means trusting others’ processes as well. The more we can learn to sit with our own process, the more we can learn to be OK with others . . . We’re all on an individual journey- coming out of a period of exploration, going into one, or maybe just integrating . . . I have no idea what I’m doing in this picture, but I’m choosing to remember that I have the choice to smile while going through the transition
Be-ing is not one of the things I am comfortable with Yet. I don’t always stay present to the ebb and flow, and not grasp when the tide goes out Yet. I don’t default to choosing to trust it will come back in Yet. I am not comfortable with letting go of the reigns even when I’ve tried my best Yet. So I am here- Learning. Forgiving. And having patience for myself and others who are doing just the same. . . . 📷 @stromberg_photography
