I realise Tinder is a bit of a minefield at the best of times, what with coworkers, and catfish, and escort workers masquerading as genuine potential dates. But it seems like the level plummets to new depths after a certain time ... this case 9:30 in the evening 🤮 Ladies ... if you ever want to make your man appreciate you - LET HIM GO ON TINDER ... after 9:30 !!! Fellow single / separated men ... umm yeah ... we're doomed. Might as well take up a new hobby, or schedule in a few more gym sessions, or run off and join the priesthood. Glad I had kids when I had the chance ... don't think I'll find anyone to reproduce with on Tinder 😋
So I bought a set of male 'accessories' about five (?) years ago. Bracelets and pendants and whatnot. Had this one real 'chunky' adjustable piece that was WAY too big around my wrists (I DO have pretty thin ones for a guy), even tightened to the smallest setting. I'm like 'WTF ... maybe that will make an 'armlet' around my bicep ... except there's no WAY I'll ever get my bicep big enough to hold it, even if it's as tight as it will go !' 😕 Now ... five years later ... not ONLY does it fit, but I've had to let it out at least halfway to avoid cutting off blood flow to the bicep in question 😀😁🤟💪 Even co-ordinates well with my Storm London chain / pendant thing. #winning 😁
... aaaand we're back to sweating dye off our weight gloves 💪🏋️♂️😏 THAT'S more like it 🤣 When I went earlier this week I was pretty disgusted / disappointed with myself TBH. Had to back weight RIGHT off ... a few months worth ... just to make it through. THAT'S what I get for being consistently inconsistent the last two weeks or so ! Today was better ... still took it a bit easier, but weights are back up to a level I can live with. Probably helped having my own tunes back too ... really strugg lke when I forget to charge my BT headphones 😑 Now to shave, shower, have a drink or two, and head to my FAVOURITE club night 😀😀😀

I've said it before, and I'll say it again (and again, and again ... no doubt). Definite 'low serotonin' / down in the dumps / 'blues' feeling for the last few days with work and stress and various things going on - ever since the day after my LAST workout (which was Monday or Tuesday). Managed to get to the gym tonight. Couldn't play my tunes which always degrades performance + the extra time between sessions meant I definitely wasn't smashing any PRs (weight went backwards on most movements). BUT it's not always about that, it's about getting blood flowing and brain chemicals bubbling. NOW post-gym I feel 150% better 😀😀😀💪🏋️♂️ There's a good chance I'll come crashing back down again tommorow of course (THAT's why consistency and a regular schedule should be part of your plan) ... but as always it's definitely what the doctor ordered 😁
Running out of protein, so thought I'd head down to @nutritionwarehouse in Castle Hill to take advantage of their birthday specials. Sadly all the R1 WPIs they had left in the 4.7lbs and 10lbs were in flavours I didn't like the look of like Mocha, Peanut Butter, Cookies & Cream, or Vanilla or Salted Caramel which are OK but I'm a bit 'over' too. No Red Velvet, no Strawberries & Cream, none of THAT good sh*t 😕 Spotted some 'Frozen Banana' - decided to give THAT a try, though with SOME trepidation. It COULD have gone either way. First impression when I opened the tub - good - smells like those totally artificial 'banana' lollies any Australian kid will remember. I used to luuurve them ... literally made myself puke at LEAST once eating too many of them 🤣🤣🤣 Can confirm it TASTES just like those banana lollies as well. Awesome ... another great R1 find 😜💪👍
IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE ME SHIRTLESS, DON'T SWIPE PAST THE 4TH PIC ! 😋😋😋 It's THAT time again - checking on #myprogress with a #progressupdate (Dec 17 - Jan 19) Post-Xmas has been hard, not keeping up #keto as well as I have been the previous 12 months, and ongoing personal challenges have seen me hit the gym a LITTLE less the last week or two. Still a LEEEDLE change though methinks. #nophotoshop as always except for composition. Screwed up / cut off hand position in one of the shots too - tried to 'shop it back but it ended up looking like a bunch of penises, so I've just left it cut off. Deal with it 😉
Well, well ! I've been known to say I'm in better shape now than when I was in my 20's, and I found some proof today while going through some backups. First pic from sixteen years ago in 2003, when I was still a youth at 25, and thought I had the world at my feet. Even then, a little chub apparent in the face. Next series of pics with the hideous shirts and the hideous Eastern Block haircut are from early 2004, some months after a tumultuous breakup when I'd let myself go, and my mother (in hindsight) was trying to 'match make' me in 'the old country' with one of her best friend's daughters. God help me ... I think I was at my heaviest then (until I hit 40) !!! MAY explain why my dear old mom reacts so unfavourably to me being in keto and turning my health around, if THIS is her idea of me at my most 'virile' 🤣😋 Final series of pics late 2004 / early 2005 after I'd started running to bring the weight back down, and had just met my future wife. Better, but still a 'solid' kind of build. If these pics are representative of me during my 20's (and I believe they are), then I'd definitely say its not just 'wishful thinking' ... I really HAVE turned my physical clock back earlier than that and am in better shape than most of my mid-to-late 20's at least, thanks to a combination of diet + exercise. Having given up the cigarettes a few years ago now (that you can see in one of those 2004 shots), my teeth are whiter too. Wins all round 😀
Got a cheap frypan and some Vårkul glasses from Ikea, to replace some others which have recently departed. Kids got to eat hotdogs. Everyone's a winner. Vår cool 😉
Because nothing says #straya like firing up your American-designed (Chinese manufactured) DJ console, chucking on some Dirty South, having a random Aussie low carb beer like Iron Jack, some Bundy, and a nice T-bone steak, before finishing your day with a swim in the pool and some low carb export beer from Fiji, because #sydneyhouseprices and #sydneytransport mean it's too far and too hot to get to the beach without a car 😂 Happy Australia Day, peeps !
Hmm ... so it's stinkin' hot already ... 32C / 89.6F with a predicted top of 35C / 95F. No kids, no car, but need to budget a bit this week. Do I brave public transport and go a beach run in this heat ? Decisions, decisions ...
So when circumstance means you can't get to the gym ... you can EITHER give up ... OR you can bring the gym to you, even if it means using your old pee-wee 'starter' weights 😁 Lighter weights just means more reps + more sets at the end of the day. Unless you have a rack / powercage handy (believe me, working on it) at home, no 'safety bars' also means pushing to failure isn't really an option either, even with the light weights. Hornsby Coles *really* has great Keto / Paleo game ! Shout out to the local store manager - stocking decisions in the Australian grocery market are usually done at the individual store level. Clearly s/he has good taste. Speaking of which ... smelled a bit wrong on the reheat, but TASTES darned good 😀
When life throws challenges your way, staying positive is HARD ! Sticking to your gym routine, sticking to the far healthier eating habits you told yourself you'd be following forever, staying away from #negativeselftalk - all *HARD AF* ! In the face of adversity, it's so easy to fall back into old, negative habits, and have 'just that one' cigarette, or drink, or ... piece of pizza pie 😕 *I* for one have to confess to struggling a little bit to stay in / get back to keto since Xmas, which coincided with some major life changes still ongoing. One too many 'cheat days', and not enough planning nor consistency. I *almost* ordered one of these 'New Yorker' pizzas tonight after I put my kids to bed, and the silence of my own thoughts with no-one else for company descended. I almost commited #carbicide ! Luckily I had this photo to remind myself *why* I decided to make positive changes in the first place. Do I want to be THIS guy again ? I DON'T THINK SO !!! Do I want to be in control of my own health & destiny ? HELLS to the YES !!! Find your own #drivers ... both positive AND negative. Apply them RUTHLESSLY as needed 💪👊👍 I am NOT letting my little weasel b*tch have his pizza pie. F*ck that ... I've come too far for THAT noise. Time to reset and recalibrate - let's do dis !
